The sky
on 8 May 1924.
The sign of each planet that day, calculated from astronomical ephemerides (Paris time). When a planet changes sign during the day, the exact time is given: that’s where the birth time decides.
If this is your birth date
What you are trying to become
You take your time, and no one will make you lose it. You commit late, after looking at everything, and then you do not go back on it.
Venus rules this sign. In its constellation shine the Pleiades, seven sisters to the Greeks, visible to the naked eye on winter nights.
What you build, you want to be able to touch. What you are pressed to decide, you refuse first.
Why?
What you are trying to become, and what you need to be recognised for. In Taurus, it takes the time it takes and it is not replayed. You commit late, then you do not revisit it.
What settles you
You settle when everyone is home. You remember every word, every birthday, what was forgotten. Your mood follows that of your people.
Cancer begins at the June solstice, the day the Sun stops and turns back. The Moon rules this sign.
The Moon is at home in this sign. It changes shape every night, and so do you.
Why?
What settles you and what puts you on alert, before any conscious decision. In Cancer, it goes through who is present first. You protect before you explain, and you remember everything. At home. What it governs runs without resistance — the ground where you do not have to force anything.
What people see first
It takes your birth time and city.
Why?
The first thing people register about you, before they know you.
What draws you
What draws you is someone you can put your bag down with. You feed people, you remember small kindnesses, and you give before being asked.
You love the way people protect, and you take it badly when that isn’t wanted.
Why?
What draws you in and what you offer — in love as in taste. In Cancer, it goes through who is present first. You protect before you explain, and you remember everything.
What gets you moving
You do not move because you are asked to. An instruction makes you want to do the opposite, and you fight better for a cause than for yourself.
Aquarius carries water in every drawing, yet it is an air sign: what it pours is ideas. Saturn rules it in the old astrology, Uranus in the new.
Your anger stays in your head: you explain, and it hurts more than a shout.
Why?
What you go after, and how you fight when you meet resistance. In Aquarius, it happens off the rulebook. You step back where others lean in, and it reads as coldness.
How you think
You think slowly and you retain everything. You need something concrete: an example, a figure, something to handle.
Once your mind is made up, arguing with it is a waste of time.
Why?
How you think and speak — the pace, the level of detail, what you keep to yourself. In Taurus, it takes the time it takes and it is not replayed. You commit late, then you do not revisit it. Retrograde at your birth: seen from Earth, the planet was moving backwards. What it governs turns inward first, and shows later than it does in other people.
Where you think big
You grow by leaving. A country, a language, a big idea: you need air and meaning.
The centre of our galaxy lies in the direction of Sagittarius: look toward the archer, and you are looking at the heart of the Milky Way. Jupiter, the largest planet, rules this sign.
Jupiter rules this sign. Your faith carries you far, and sometimes excuses you from checking.
Why?
What you take for granted, and the ground where you let yourself overreach. In Sagittarius, it needs a horizon. You take badly to having your ground narrowed, and you leave rather than negotiate. At home. What it governs runs without resistance — the ground where you do not have to force anything. Retrograde at your birth: seen from Earth, the planet was moving backwards. What it governs turns inward first, and shows later than it does in other people.
Where you hold firm
You take bonds seriously. A commitment, for you, gets kept, and you want it to be fair.
Libra is the only sign of the zodiac that isn’t a living thing: it is an instrument. It weighs, and it stops only when both pans are level.
Saturn is in exaltation in this sign: you know what an agreement is worth.
Why?
What you take seriously, and where you hold yourself to a line. In Libra, it is measured against the other person. You adjust to whoever is across from you, until your own position blurs. Received as a guest of honour: amplified, sometimes past reason. A strength to dose, not to prove. Retrograde at your birth: seen from Earth, the planet was moving backwards. What it governs turns inward first, and shows later than it does in other people.
What dominates
You feel before you understand, and your memory files moments by what they did to you, not by their dates. Water's known flip side: absorbing moods that are not yours.

What’s missing without the time
The rising sign, the houses and the exact degree of each planet depend on the time and place: the rising sign changes about every two hours. Add them in the calculator, or find your full chart in the app.
