The sky
on 13 January 1978.
The sign of each planet that day, calculated from astronomical ephemerides (Paris time). When a planet changes sign during the day, the exact time is given: that’s where the birth time decides.
If this is your birth date
What you are trying to become
You aim far, and you demand a lot of yourself. What you make, you want still standing in ten years. Credit, you give yourself late.
Capricorn begins at the December solstice, the day the Sun turns back. Its symbol is a sea goat: half mountain, half ocean. Saturn rules it.
People think you feel nothing. You have simply already planned next year.
Why?
What you are trying to become, and what you need to be recognised for. In Capricorn, it gets built and proven. You aim far, demand a lot of yourself, and give yourself credit late.
What settles you
You settle apart: water, music, the dark. The mood of the room becomes yours without your choosing it.
Pisces closes the zodiac. Two fish swim in opposite directions, tied by a cord. The star that makes the knot is called Alrescha: “the cord”, in Arabic.
You need time to hand back to others what is not yours.
Why?
What settles you and what puts you on alert, before any conscious decision. In Pisces, it happens by absorption. You take on the mood of a room without choosing to, and sometimes mistake it for your own.
What people see first
It takes your birth time and city.
Why?
The first thing people register about you, before they know you.
What draws you
What draws you has proved itself. You look at how someone keeps their promises before you look at the rest, and you take your time.
You love seriously, and it shows in time more than in words.
Why?
What draws you in and what you offer — in love as in taste. In Capricorn, it gets built and proven. You aim far, demand a lot of yourself, and give yourself credit late.
What gets you moving
You move when it is worth it, and it shows. You like to lead, to defend, to stand in front. What wounds your pride gets you going.
The Sun rules this sign: the only body in the chart that makes its own light. The brightest star of the constellation is Regulus, “the little king”.
You work better when somebody is watching.
Why?
What you go after, and how you fight when you meet resistance. In Leo, it is done large or not at all. You need it to be seen, and lukewarm stings more than a flat no. Retrograde at your birth: seen from Earth, the planet was moving backwards. What it governs turns inward first, and shows later than it does in other people.
How you think
Your birth time settles it.
Why?
How you think and speak — the pace, the level of detail, what you keep to yourself.
Where you think big
You grow by learning. A book, a meeting, one more subject: your best doors open through talking.
Gemini is Castor and Pollux: one mortal, the other not, inseparable all the same. Mercury, the fastest planet around the Sun, rules this sign.
Jupiter is in detriment in this sign: you know many things, less often where they lead.
Why?
What you take for granted, and the ground where you let yourself overreach. In Gemini, it runs through words and several threads at once. You get bored before other people do, and it shows. Opposite its home: adverse ground. What it governs takes deliberate effort — and is worth working for exactly that reason. Retrograde at your birth: seen from Earth, the planet was moving backwards. What it governs turns inward first, and shows later than it does in other people.
Where you hold firm
Showing yourself has cost you. You want what you do to be recognised, and you find it hard to ask.
Saturn is in detriment in this sign: your pride works in silence.
Why?
What you take seriously, and where you hold yourself to a line. In Leo, it is done large or not at all. You need it to be seen, and lukewarm stings more than a flat no. Opposite its home: adverse ground. What it governs takes deliberate effort — and is worth working for exactly that reason. Retrograde at your birth: seen from Earth, the planet was moving backwards. What it governs turns inward first, and shows later than it does in other people.
What dominates
You start faster than most people, and waiting costs you more than doing. Fire's known flip side: starting comes more naturally than finishing.

What’s missing without the time
The rising sign, the houses and the exact degree of each planet depend on the time and place: the rising sign changes about every two hours. Add them in the calculator, or find your full chart in the app.
